2026 Pup-dates
April was a busy month! The photo at the home page was taken on Lake Michigan during a weekend in the Chicago area.

PSAR SUMMIT 2026
Pennsylvania Search and Rescue Summit 2026 was held late April in Franklin, PA. K9 Karoo performed beautifully and we learned a lot.
DOGGIE MANNERS ONE
The Monday Manners for Beginners is back on the calendar. Guest spots for graduates is available for pups that just need a refresher here and there. Karoo's confidence is growing and she helped April's orientation class get started on mark and reward timing.
BRIMSTONE TURNS TEN IN MAY...
The old man is slowing down. He attended the orientation class (off camera in video above). Rather than being front and center, he said his hellos then relaxed in an open crate while his sister stole the show.
Yes, this makes me cry. Thankfully Brimstone Excalibur is still here and teaching Karoo what it means to be a good dog.
Progress on Goals for 2026

Team Karoo continues to refine their search skills and plan to pursue Land Cadaver Dog Test by the end of summer.

Cooperative care status: We've decided a hip flop on the bed is our best set-up for nail trims. The dogs are comfortable and its easier on the handler. We like to use a checker-print cloth to indicate nail salon status!

Training philosophies: Over the past few years, we've met a variety of trainers that train with different tools for a variety of reasons. Hardware neutral mentality is prefered over an "us vs them" divisiveness.
