CHQ Dogs
CHQ Dogs stands for Customized, Humane, Quality training and behavior consultation services. Its mission is to provide customized reward based training support to dogs and their guardians through the application of modern, humane and science based learning principles(including LIMA).
Represented by a Certified Professional Dog Trainer: Carly Davis, CHQ Dogs is dedicated to quality. This is improved regularly through life long learning, small group classes, adapting, and networking with animal professionals in Chautauqua County (and beyond).
*Often mispronounced "Chautauqua Dogs", a goal of CHQ Dogs and Chautauqua Institution is "the exploration of the best in human values and the enrichment of life" (with dogs!)
2026 Pup-dates
Much like last winter, snow has taken over Chautauqua County.
As snowmobiles enjoy the conditions and speed past the Mayville Canine Cabin, CHQDogs is adapting to remote and in-home training. Reopening the Canine Cabin will be considered in early March, 2026.
Stay tuned for Group Classes at other locations.
Practice with North Western Pennsylvania Search And Rescue has been understandably limited due to cold winter temperatures. We are excited to have several new team members including some very experienced trainers!
Karoo has a new Tracking device. It shows her location in real-time with a compatible app (no gps needed). The track can be saved and uploaded to a Caltopo map. We can't wait for better weather to get more familiar with this technology.
Hard to believe Brimstone turns 10 this year! He is recovering nicely from a January dental procedure. Many thanks to the Amazing staff at Dunkirk Animal Clinic for taking such good care of him!

Hopes & Goals for 2026

K9 Karoo and handler Carly hope to take a Land Cadaver Dog Test by the end of summer.

We will continue to improve cooperative care skills. Hopefully Brimstone never needs another dental! Meanwhile, Karoo loves to get her teeth brushed every day.
